Day 8: Indecision

About seven years ago, I bought The Power of Decision by Raymond Charles Barker. Thinking the book would change my life, I quickly hit the buy button on Amazon (You’re welcome, Bezos).

Then I didn’t look at the book for over five years (!!)

While going through my e-book library two years ago, there it was. I said, “Self, it’s time to read this book.” Or something like that.

Then I realized I should have started reading this book much earlier.

The Power of Decision is a book that I now read every year.

The signature quote of the book is, “Indecision is the decision to fail.” When you want to achieve something, you have to decide to do it. Wanting is not enough.

The decision signals the mind that this (whatever the goal is) is to be complete.

Most failure has its roots in indecision. If I don’t have something, I ask myself if I decided to do it, Or was I wishing?

I only have to look at my own life as an example.

Remember, all achievement starts with a burning desire.

I wanted to work from home in my industry. Some employees had the privilege, but I didn’t. I had an idea of working from home, and the idea became a desire.

The desire turns into a goal then you have to make a decision.

I had a goal to work from home, but it wasn’t until six years later that I decided to work from home. When I decided to do it, it happened within four months, and every job I’ve had since has been at least partially remote.

It’s a small thing, but it can be applied to anything if you decide to do it.
