Increase Predictability
Make each day as predictable as possible
There is an air of safety in predictability. The more predictable a situation is, the better we can prepare for and handle it.
When planning a day, I aim to make it as predictable as possible because I have more control over what happens.
Is there an unpredictable piece of life? Of course. However, the goal should be to balance predictability and unpredictability as much as possible.
Predictability brings stability where the matter keeps things interesting. We need both, but the burden is on us to provide the necessary balance. The world already provides enough chaos for all of us. We have to provide predictability in my life.
What are three ways to increase predictability in your life?
- Write out short-term and long-term goals; these provide an expected end to all I am doing — how much do you want to weigh, how much income do you want to make? Writing goals down every day isn’t just something you do; it’s a way to predict your life. If I predict I will be at a particular place at a certain point in my life, and if I don’t waver off of it, I will get there.
