Life is a Match Game

I knew someone who had a selective roommate in her dating choices. There is nothing wrong with preferences; you like who you like.

But she said one day that she wanted a man with a six-pack. My former friend replied, “The only six-pack you have is in your trunk.”

Harsh but valid.

My friend’s friend sought a match that was not a match to who she was. No judgement here at all, just making a point. Not to say it would never happen, but it is unlikely.

Everywhere we go, there we are.

I think we’ve all sought after things that don’t exactly equate with who we are. But in doing so, we are violating a spiritual law, the law of agreement.

“How can two walk together unless they agree.”- The Bible

This concept is no more prevalent than in the world of dating. People often complain about the quality of people they date but never address their role in the equation.

Are you attracting hurt people because you are hurt? Are you attracting low-integrity people because you have low integrity? Again, this may be harsh, but the truth sets us free. At the very least, we should look at ourselves.

Decide what you want in a partner and become a version of that for yourself. In time, your match will come along if you are ready.

If I create something for people to buy, am I doing it to get something from them? Most of us would say yes because we are in business.

That’s fair.

But what if you did things because you loved them and they excited you?

You are not only creating a product or a service, but you are also building energy that attracts people. People that want to contribute to what you are making.

Why do they want to contribute?

Because you are contributing, life is a match game.

Let’s take it a step further. Don’t just do the thing, but put all of the energy you can muster into it.

That energy goes and attracts people from all over. They will want to be a part of whatever you’re building, and yes, they will pay.

I used to debate people online all the time. I do very little of that now.

Why?

I don’t want that energy in my life so I won’t invest in it. I put out genuine positivity, and that is what I get back.

Life is a match game.

You can spend your life trying to get things, which is fine.

Or you can become what you think those things will get you. Then you’ll be fulfilled (and probably get the stuff too).
