Staying in the moment

I remember reading a quote from You Can Heal Your Life, the classic self-help book written by Louise Hay. In it, she wrote all of your power is in the present moment. It can be so easy to live anywhere but in the present moment. Our minds are always at work, continually trying to solve problems or stop creating new ones.

Balancing an ever increasingly busy life is another challenge that awaits us all every day. We want to provide for our children but also don’t want to miss them growing up. We want to secure our future but also live in the moment.

I don’t have to tell you that stress is mostly a creation of the mind. And as long as you don’t have control of your mental power, it will continue to stressful thoughts. Stress can have a damaging effect on our mind and body.

One of the best ways I’ve learned to head stress off at the pass is to live in the moment. What does that mean? It means always to be aware of where you are mentally. If it isn’t happening now, then it isn’t somewhere you should spend mental and emotional energy.

Why?

It’s because we live in an energy-based world.

Money is energy.

Happiness is energy.

Everything is energy.

If you approach life with no energy to give, there will be no investment. With no investment, there is no return. The Bible says that we should guard our hearts will all due diligence for out of it flows the issues (forces) of life. The heart is the energy center of all of us. According to author Gregg Braden, the heart is also the emotional center. So according to that explanation, all of our energy and emotions come from the heart.

Energy goes where attention flows. So the things you want to spend your energy on, put your attention there.

If you want a healthier life, pay more attention to what you eat. If you wish for greater abundance, to pay attention to your stewardship and the quality of work.

Pay attention to the things that matter and the things that don’t will fall away.
