What Gets Tracked, Gets Done

Keeping Track of Your Goals

One of the Playbook Principles is what gets tracked, gets done.

Tracking is essential when it comes to achieving your goals. Over time, I’ve learned that losing track of my goals and ideas led to them not happening. Goals are similar to children or pets — they tend to wander off if not supervised. The newer the goal, the more tracking is needed. Therefore, it’s crucial to write down your goals, the due date, and all the necessary steps to achieve them. Tracking each of these steps will help you stay on track and make progress.

For example, if you want to lose 50 pounds, it’s unrealistic to think you can achieve it in a day or a week. It would be best to have a plan that involves changing your eating habits, adopting a new diet plan, increasing your activity level, and monitoring your calorie intake and expenditure. You should also set an expected timeline for achieving your weight loss goal. By tracking your progress, you’ll be more likely to achieve it.

Tracking is crucial in any field and applies to anything you want to accomplish. Setting a goal, tracking it, and doing the necessary daily tasks is the key to achieving your goals and winning in life.
